About the company
Jáma Steakhouse, as featured in the Guide to Prague – Top 6 places to eat in Prague, has been operating since May 2010. It is the sister establishment of Restaurace Jáma, the longest standing American restaurant in Central Europe (25 years). Both are owned and managed by Max Munson and his wife, Marcela Munson. Jáma Steakhouse is a purveyor of top quality cuts of beef not only from Czech micro bio-farms, but also aged beef from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and the US. Jáma’s quality aged beef exhibits a very slight acidity which is indicative of grass feeding, while its tender fattiness is caused by the grain “finishing”. All international steaks served in the Jama Steakhouse have dry aged two to six weeks and then “wet” aged for a minimum of two more weeks. It goes without saying that these excellent meats are complemented with a wine-list selected to bring out the best in the steaks served, delivering an excellent evening of quality for a reasonable price. Even Jama’s own house wine follows this philosophy – the Jama Steakhouse Cuvee is designed and supplied by Horst Gager from the award winning Weingut Gager in Austria.
